According to a study from August 2023, the highest amount spent by UK consumers for recorded music was for subscriptions. In 2022, UK consumers spent a total of nearly two billion British pounds of which 1.6 billion were for subscriptions. At the same time, people spent less money on physical formats and downloads compared to the previous year.
