SEAT S.A.: vehicle sales 2013-2023, by brand
From 2013 to 2017, the SEAT brand observed a period of steady growth, going from vehicle sales of 355,000 vehicles in 2013 up to 468,400 vehicles in 2017.
From 2018 to 2021, SEAT was the major brand in terms of vehicle sales. From 2018 to 2019, steady growth was observed with the SEAT brand selling 503,300 and 549,400 units in each respective year. At the same time, the CUPRA brand only sold 14,400 and 24,700 units during those years. In 2020, total vehicle sales decreased for SEAT but increased for the CUPRA brand. Between 2021 and 2023, significant growth in the sale of the CUPRA brand was recorded, with sales rising to 230,700 units in 2023. The SEAT brand, which suffered losses in sales in 2021 and 2022, recovered in 2023, with the volume of cars sold reaching 230,700 units.
The period of decline in vehicle sales during and following 2020 was in the midst of both the COVID-19 pandemic and global semiconductor shortages. It was not only SEAT S.A. that suffered such losses as the number of cars sold worldwide faced a decline during that same period.
