Trust in news sources in Canada 2023, by platform
Printed newspapers were the most trusted news source for Canadians as of November 2023. A total of 62 percent of surveyed respondents felt printed papers were trustworthy. News media websites followed closely behind with a trust level of 59 percent. Overall, the study found that Canadians trusted traditional media more than more digital formats, with radio and TV the preferred choice compared to social networks. In general, websites scored a lower trust level than their analog counterparts, while social networks found themselves at the bottom of the ranking, as just over one in five surveyed Canadians trust them as a news source.
