This statistic shows the voter turnout in general elections held in the United Kingdom (UK) from 1918 to 2015, broken down by political party. Along with the population growth, the voter turnout has been increasing during that time, Until the 1931 general elections, the number of votes for each political party had been below 10 million. That year, the Conservative Party was the first to amass 13.16 million votes compared with 6.65 million votes for the Labour Party. The greatest difference in voters between different parties were recorded at the beginning of the time period in 1918 and 1931, respectively. Where the number of Conservative Party voters was almost double the number of those voting for the Labour Party. The greatest number of votes for the Conservative Party was recorded in 1992 at 14.1 million. By comparison, 13.95 million people had voted for the Labour Party in 1951.
