This statistic shows the results of a survey among respondents in the EU regarding the type of media used for news on European political matters in 2019, broken down by age group. During the survey period, it was found that television was used for news on European political matters by the majority of Europeans in all age groups, most significantly by people over 55 years of age, at 88 percent, and people aged 40 to 54 years old at 78 percent. The internet (websites and online social networks) was the most popular medium among Europeans aged between 15 years and 24 years at 76 percent, while only 24 percent of respondents aged over 55 years reported its usage for news on European political matters.
