U.S. fire statistics: civilian fire death rate, by community size 2012-2017
This statistic shows the civilian death rate, due to fires, in the United States for the time period between 2012 and 2017, by size of community. During this period, the smallest communities (population less than 2,500) had the highest rate with 21.1 people killed due to fires per million population, which was almost twice the average national rate (11.1).
