According to a survey on mental health in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in 2021, 70 percent of respondents stated that people should deal with excessive anxiety by visiting a doctor or a mental health professional. In reality, only 27 percent of respondents actually visited a mental health professional when faced with excessive anxiety, while almost half of respondents dealt with it on their own.
