Electricity generated from coal in Africa 2000-2021
In Africa, around 222.6 terawatt hours of electricity were generated from coal in 2021. In the preceding year, the amount was higher, at 223.3 terawatt hours. Within the period observed, the contribution of coal to electricity production on the continent peaked in 2007 at over 247 terawatt hours.
