Preference for premium beer in African countries 2018
Nearly four in every 10 people in Ethiopia would pay more for a premium beer, according to a survey conducted in 2018. The country registered the highest share of consumers willing to pay more for getting a higher quality beer in Africa. In Nigeria, 18 percent of respondents would purchase a premium beer, while in Cote d'Ivoire this share was at 15 percent. On the other hand, only two percent of consumers would do the same in Algeria, Egypt, and Morocco.
