Share of convicted for human trafficking in the MENA region 2018, by citizenship
In North Africa and the Middle East, 70 percent of people convicted for human trafficking were nationals of the countries (seven in all) in which the offense was perpetrated. Twenty-six percent of traffickers were foreigners from the MENA region, while a smaller percentage (four percent) were from Asia. Traffickers in the region were mainly male.
