Trinidad and Tobago, an island nation in the Caribbean sea, was the territory with the highest fossil CO₂ emissions per capita in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2022. The country registered emissions of 21.17 metric tons per capita that year. Curaçao, also located in the Caribbean sea, had the second highest CO₂ emission rate in the region, amounting to 12.41 tons per capita. Meanwhile, Haiti had the lowest figure, with 0.3 tons per person.
