Content spend of major SVoD services 2013-2018
This statistic, based on data provided by Parrot Analytics, shows the content investment of major SVoD platforms Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and Netflix. Market leader Netflix has consistently spent more on content than its competitors, starting with a 2.5 billion dollar content budget in 2013 and reaching six billion by 2017. Meanwhile, Hulu's spend has barely changed in the last five years, and Amazon's has only marginally grown. Netflix's content budget doubled between 2017 and 2018, reaching a staggering 12 billion U.S. dollars.
