This statistic presents the leading countries worldwide, by value of foreign currency reserves in 2020. In 2020, the foreign currency reserves held by China, including gold, were the largest and amounted to about 3.4 trillion U.S. dollars. Second in rank was Japan with reserves worth about 1.4 trillion U.S. dollars which was less than half of those of China.
