Spending on infrastructure by national governments in Africa 2018, by sector
National governments in Africa allocated around 37 billion U.S. dollars for infrastructure projects in 2018. The value increased from 33 billion U.S. dollars in the preceding year. Transport has been the most benefited sector since 2015, receiving at least half of the total spending made annually. In 2018, national infrastructure budgets for the transport sector in 48 African countries totaled nearly 20 billion U.S. dollars.
