In the space of more than a decade, the opinion among French people toward the exploitation of marine resources in their country by the tourism industry significantly evolved. As a matter of fact, the share of people stating the French government exploits too much its maritime domain for its tourist activity doubled between 2006 and 2019. In May 2019, 32 percent of the French population agreed with that statement, against only 14 percent in May 2006.
