Reasons for news media misunderstanding audiences U.S. 2020, by ethnicity
According to a survey held in the United States in early 2020, 39 percent of white adults felt that their political views were what news organizations misunderstood most about them. By contrast, just 15 percent of Black survey respondents said the same, with the majority feeling that the news media most misunderstood their personal characteristics. White audiences were less likely to feel that the news media misrepresented or misunderstood their personal interests or characteristics than other ethnic groups.
