Ethnicity distribution of Penguin Random House new hires U.S. 2017-2023
In 2023, 55.73 percent of all newly-employed people at Penguin Random House in the United States were white, compared to 71.5 percent of new hires back in 2017. Whilst this shows small improvements in diversity, other ethnic groups still have limited representation within the company. The share of newly-hired Asian or Hispanic employees is under 20 percent in each year shown, and the share of Black people recruited by Penguin Random House was below 15 percent in every year from 2017 to 2023.
