Intra-African imports as a share of total imports 2019, by region of origin
In 2019, the leading origin of intra-African imports was the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), accounting for 7.6 percent of the total imports into the continent. Furthermore, the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) constituted 4.8 percent of the total. Overall, intra-African trade still represents a small portion of African trade activities.
