Until 2000, beer consumption levels fluctuated between one and two liters per person in Russia on an annual basis. Over the following years however, the individual intake of this alcoholic beverage grew year-on-year. Once a historic maximum was hit in 2007 at roughly five liters of beer per capita, consumption levels gradually decreased, reaching 3.04 liters per year in 2019.
