This statistic depicts the emissions of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) worldwide in 2015, and forecast figures for 2020 to 2050. In 2015, global HFC emissions reached around 355,600 metric tons of HFC-134a. By 2050, this figure is forecast to decrease to some 340,000 tons of HFC-134a. HFCs are man-made fluorinated greenhouse gases and often used as a replacement for ozone-depleting substances.
